Donuts & Coffee is ready to go for the New Year! All we need are some volunteers to host. Please sign-up on the board in the Social Hall or email Chrissy Cassa if you would like to volunteer. If you haven’t volunteered before – it’s easy and the kids love to help! Everything is delivered to the
Social Hall – all you have to do is set-up and clean-up. Thank you to all the families who have helped since September:
Devine Family, Grover Family, Hill Family, Pierce Family, Riley Family, Rubio Family, Song Family, and Songer Family.
Join us as we get in the Christmas spirit on Friday, December 15 from 6:00-8:30pm in Powers Hall! Watch the Polar Express on the big screen under the lights of the Christmas tree. Hot Cocoa and snacks will be served. Feel free to wear pajamas and bring sleeping bags or blankets!
This year our main Thanksgiving Mass for the Collaborative will be at 7:00pm on Wednesday, the eve of Thanksgiving at St. Paul Church, and will feature the combined choirs of St. Paul and St. John Parishes. Please join us! Thanksgiving Day will be the regular weekday Mass schedule: 7:00am at St. John and 9:00am at St. Paul.
God bless you, and keep you, and walk beside you, at Thanksgiving… and always.
With the return of our regular Mass Schedule, our Family Mass Program also returns from summer vacation. What does that mean? It means our music, readings, & homilies will be geared towards families with young children. There are also a lot of helpers – families and children bringing up the gifts to the celebrant, children helping with the collection baskets, parent lectors. If you think you or your child would enjoy helping during the Family Mass – we’d love to have your help! Please contact our Family Mass Coordinator, Chrissy Cassa.
And, yes, right after the Family Mass there is our Donut & Coffee Social Hour downstairs in Powers Hall. Please consider helping one Sunday this year. It’s easy – everything is delivered to the church you just need to set-up and clean-up. The kids love to help out! Please contact our Family Mass Coordinator, Chrissy Cassa.

A Letter from Chris Holownia, Family Mass Music Director
Dear St. John’s Parishioners:
After a long period of discernment, I have decided to pursue a religious vocation to the Jesuits and will enter their novitiate at St. Andrew Hall in Syracuse, NY this coming August. This announcement is bittersweet, as I have been a member of the St. John Parish community since I was in elementary school and will miss my colleagues, friends, and fellow Family Mass Musicians tremendously. I am both excited and nervous to begin this next chapter of my life, and saying farewell is quite difficult.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who has helped to make my experience here such a positive one over the past 10 years: thank you for welcoming me, challenging me, supporting me, and trusting me as I learned the ropes. St. John’s is a special place, and I am proud to call myself a member of this great faith community. Please know that I will cherish my time here for the rest of my life, bringing my career at St. John’s forward with me wherever I go, and I promise to come back to visit whenever I can!
Thank you so much to all the families who volunteered this year for Donuts & Coffee set-up and clean-up. This time after Mass is a wonderful source of community and connection, and the help from our volunteers is greatly appreciated.
