Registering is the first step in getting to know one another and is important when your family members are receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, Confirmation and Marriage. Additionally, being a member of a parish gives one the identity of belonging to a family – the family of St. John the Evangelist. In times of joy and in times of struggle, it is comforting to have the support of family. Being a registered parish member assures you of that support. So if you are new to St. John’s, or if you have been attending here but have not yet registered, we invite you to do so now.

St. John the Evangelist Parish is a vibrant community of faith. There are so many ways you and your family can participate in the life of this Parish! The information below provides a brief overview of important areas and programs here at St. John – please follow the links for more detailed information.
SACRAMENTS: In welcoming you, we welcome your participation in all aspects of our Parish life, especially in celebrating the sacraments of our Catholic Christian faith. Learn more about the celebration of the sacraments (including Baptism and Matrimony) by visiting our Sacraments page.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION: Adult faith formation is a multi-faceted, learning and living experience for Catholics that meshes education, spiritual growth, and active practice of faith that includes prayer and service to others. The Adult Faith Formation Commission initiates and oversees programs for all adults in the Parish. Our Adult Faith Formation programs include Spiritual Study groups, lectures, monthly gatherings for women and men, Advent and Lenten programs, and our Faith Matters blog. We also offer a R.C.I.A. program, welcoming persons committed to the journey of becoming a Christian.
LITURGY: Liturgy is “the participation of the People of God in the work of God”. Liturgical celebrations, including the Sacraments, Devotions, Weddings and Funerals, are central to our Catholic faith. Here at St. John, the Parish Liturgical Commission serves to broaden and deepen the liturgical life of the parish, encouraging the full, conscious, and active participation in the liturgy by all of the faithful. We offer many different ways to get involved with Mass; please visit our Liturgical Ministries page to learn more about our Eucharistic Ministers, lectors, altar servers, sacristans, and more.
FAMILY MASS: The Sunday 9:00 am Family Mass includes music appealing to children (featuring our Family Mass Choir), homilies meaningful to both children and adults, and provides many opportunities for parents and children to actively celebrate Mass. Followed by Donuts and Coffee downstairs in the Social Hall.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: The Religious Education Program provides our children and adolescents with ongoing faith formation, spiritual encouragement, and development of the understanding and practice of being Catholic in the world today. We offer programs for children in Grades 1-6, Grades 7 & 8, and Grades 9 & 10 (Confirmation), as well as a Peer Ministry Program for 11th and 12th graders. Both traditional classroom programs and a Family Cluster model that provides intergenerational learning for parents and children are offered.
SERVICE AND OUTREACH: St. John’s has a long-standing commitment to the scriptural message of service, as demonstrated by the many diverse programs supported within our parish. By volunteering time and talent, our parishioners are following the scriptural message to love our neighbor. The Service Commission acts as a vehicle to enhance the parish’s desire to be Christ to the world around us. Our programs are organized into 5 areas, each led by Program Coordinators who help facilitate participation, development, and communication for the individual programs.
MUSIC: The St. John pastoral music community welcomes the participation of one and all. We proclaim the glory of God by enhancing the liturgy of the word and the Lord’s sacraments through music, rejoicing in the miracle of God’s love. Music programs include the Parish Choir, Family Mass Music, Youth Choirs, and the 5:00pm Sunday Mass Music. Our music programs have something of interest to everyone, and musicians of all ability levels, from novice to expert, are most welcome in any group. Please visit our Music page for more details.
