Contemporary Music Ensemble

The Contemporary Music Ensemble (CME) is a new group that provides music for select Sunday 5pm masses.  These masses also coincide with some of the evening Religious Education classes, so that folks who participate in the mass can go right to Religious Education.  No formal music training is required – just a willingness to praise God and have fun!  All ages are invited. If you sing or play an instrument and would like to become involved this exciting ministry, please contact Julie Freeman.

The repertoire of music to be used for the CME dedicated masses will include more upbeat selections from Spirit and Song, but will also incorporate some favorites with a new twist – the addition of drums, wind instruments, electric and acoustic guitars and bass guitars.  This is an exciting newer style of music in the greater Boston area, but is much more common throughout the country.

Singers and instrumentalists are asked to commit to the dedicated Sundays (see schedule) and prior week’s practice which will be generally held at 6:15pm on Sunday evening.  There will be winter concert for the congregation and community at large. The group performs about once per month and culminates in performing for the Confirmation Mass and ceremony.
