Dear Parishioners,
I write to update you on developments in Catholic education in our St. John—St. Paul Collaborative.
All of the students from St. Paul’s School who wished to continue their education in Catholic schools have been placed. Twenty-nine students have chosen to attend St. John School and have been warmly welcomed into the school community. I am grateful to all of the neighboring Catholic schools who so graciously reached out to offer their assistance in placing students in their schools from St. Paul’s as well.
All of the teachers and para-professionals from St. Paul’s School have found new positions. Four have transitioned to St. John’s School and the others have been hired at a variety of Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese. I am thankful to the principals who reached out to consider these well qualified, respected professionals for openings in their schools. I appreciate the assistance and support of the Catholic Schools Office in facilitating the interviewing and hiring processes for all of these individuals.
As previously noted any gifts made to the Saint Paul School Annual Fund will be refunded upon written request.
It is my sincere desire to improve communications and transparency as we begin to plan collaboratively for the future of Catholic education in Wellesley. To that end, I have hired an independent, experienced Catholic educational consultant to engage with stakeholders and assist us in developing a plan for excellence in Catholic education for years to come. Rev. Ronald Nuzzi, Ph.D., from the University of Notre Dame will be meeting with small groups and some individuals starting next week to begin this work.
I ask for your prayers and support in this important step forward and I will keep you updated on our progress.
Devotedly yours,
Fr. Sepe
