New from Religious Ed: 6th Grade “Summer Blast”

Summer_Blast_2016The Religious Education programs of the St. John – St. Paul collaborative are excited to announce a pilot program for our incoming sixth graders called Summer Blast.  The program is being offered as an alternative to help our families manage their busy schedules.  Successful completion of Summer Blast will fulfill religious education requirements for the 2016-2017 school year.

Three half-day classes will be held at St. Paul School from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 on June 22, 23 and 24.  The curriculum will involve a variety of faith-based lessons taught in a fun, interactive environment and will include:

  • Video Lessons on Morals and Values with interactive discussion
  • Lessons surrounding the Jewish Ancestors in Faith – Moses & the Exodus
  • Prayer
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Snack

If you would like your child to participate in this program and you have already sent in your registration for the Religious Ed 2016-2017 year, please just email me and I will adjust it accordingly.  If you have not sent in your registration please do so by May 31st using the “Sunday Registration” section and indicate “Summer Blast Session” clearly on the form.

Those not able to attend the session can still participate in our regular 2016-2017 parish program on Sunday mornings or Wednesday afternoons.  Please complete the Religious Education registration form and indicate your Sunday or Wednesday program preference.

We are looking forward to implementing this summer program and hope that it will assist many families in balancing busy school year schedules.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Religious-Education-REGISTERIt is time to register for our 2016-2017 Religious Education program.  Please note that we have a few important updates to our registration process: you can now pay your Religious Education fee online via ParishPay, Cluster Registration is on a separate form, Wednesday Grade 1-6 registration will require a parent volunteer component.

Due to the difficulty in staffing and the overwhelming popularity of the Wednesday session, ALL families registering for Wednesday classes must agree to volunteer in some capacity.  There is a list of volunteer opportunities in the Wednesday registration section of the form.  You will not be registered into the program until a volunteer option is chosen.
