Attention Young Actors – Help “Perform” the Passion Play on Palm Sunday!

Passion PlaySeeking Actors/Actresses in Grade 3 and older to help “perform” the Passion Play at the 9:00 AM Family Mass on Palm Sunday, March 29.
Attendance at one rehearsal Saturday March 28, from 9:00 AM- 12:00 is required/mandatory.  Confirmation candidates earn 5 hours of community service credit.

Attention Young Singers! Easter Youth Choir

Bridges to Contemplative Living with Thomas Merton
Sundays, 3:00 – 4:30pm beginning February 1 to March 15 (excluding March 8) in the Parish Center
Moderator: Steve Maddaloni from Pope John Seminary
This wonderful series is intended for anyone seeking to live more contemplatively. Through a prayer and reading from Thomas Merton and other spiritual masters and the resource of the book, available at the first session, participants revisit and refresh their perspectives on life. An Overview of Marriage through the History of the Church
Presenter: Maria Bianco, one of the Judges at the Metropolitan Tribunal for the Archdiocese since 2003. Maria graduated from the School of Law at Catholic University in Argentina and as a Canon Lawyer at the Lateran University in Rome. Before moving to Boston, she had been teaching Civil Law at the Catholic University and University of Moron in Buenos Aires and Canon Law at the Seminary of the Diocese of San Isidro. She also worked as a civil attorney and as an Advocate for Canon Law cases at the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. In the Social Hall.

All are invited to participate in one of our Lenten programs presented in collaboration with Boston College’s The Church in the 21st Century and based on a book by theologians Colleen Griffith and Tom Groome titled Catholic Spiritual Practices – A Treasury of Old and New.
This series, “Engage – Mind, Heart & Lives”, is similar to our ARISE Program of years ago. More information to come!

No 7:00am Mass, Parish Business Office Closed on Tuesday, January 27

Winter-StormDue to the impending blizzard and statewide non-emergency travel ban, the office will close at 3pm on Monday, January 26 and remain closed on Tuesday, January 27.  There will be no 7am Daily Mass on Tuesday morning. Please stay safe!

Welcome Fr. Sepe!

Fr. Kevin_SepeAs was announced at Masses this past weekend, Fr. Kevin Sepe has been appointed Pastor of our St. John – St. Paul Collaborative, effective with the official launch of the new Collaborative on June 2, 2015. We warmly welcome Fr. Sepe to Wellesley!

After being ordained in 1986 Father Sepe served at St. Joseph Parish in Quincy, Sacred Heart Parish in Middleboro, and St. Mary Parish in Randolph before being appointed Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi in Braintree in 1998.  During his 13-year tenure as Pastor at St. Francis, Father Sepe completed enhancements to the church, the school and the rectory as well as growth in enrollment at St. Francis of Assisi School.  In 2012, Father Sepe was appointed Episcopal Vicar and Secretary for Parish Life and Leadership for the Archdiocese.
