You did it again! This time our Parish Lenten Gift was for St. Francis House. Through our parish-wide collection you became a blessing in the amount of $21,578. How wonderful to so generously share in this extraordinary ministry.  Thank you to one and all for your response!

Catholic Charities Annual Spring Celebration to Honor Fr. J. Bryan Hehir

Catholic_Charities_CelebrationThis year’s Spring Celebration, which celebrates and supports Catholic Charities, will honor Fr. J. Bryan Hehir with the Justice and Compassion Award for exemplifying the essence of the mission of Catholic Charities. This event will be held on Wednesday, May 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum.

For more than 100 years, Catholic Charities has continued its mission of building a just and compassionate society rooted in the dignity of all people. As one of the largest providers of social services in Massachusetts, it offers nearly 90 programs and services in 27 locations around Eastern Massachusetts. Labyrinth Choir Concert: Saturday, April 25 at 7:30pm

Heart of Music posterLabyrinth Choir is celebrating their first CD release with a concert called The Heart of Music at St. John the Evangelist on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. The 16 voice professional choir, led by artistic director Dr. Anita Kupriss, will sing all fifteen songs from their first recording. The songs from the CD include Gjeilo’s Ubi caritas, Brahms’ Let Nothing Ever Grieve Thee, our signature song Carrickfergus, as well as jazz tunes Come Sunday and I Wish You Love.

In September of 2014 Brad Michel, a professional sound engineer and parishioner at St. John’s, recorded our CD in the Sanctuary. Music Director Laurence Carson played organ on two tracks of the CD and will join Labyrinth Choir for this concert series. We are so grateful to Laurence Carson and the parish of St. John’s that we would like to offer comp tickets to all parishioners who would like to celebrate with us on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 pm!
