Christmas Flowers and Music Memorial Donations

poinsettia-at-christmas-nightWould you like to make a donation towards Christmas Music or Christmas Flowers in memory of a loved one this holiday season? If so, you may make your donation by using an offertory envelope, the collection basket, Parish Pay, or by dropping your donation in the mail or at the Parish Office in the Rectory. Please be sure to include the name(s) of those you want remembered in this special way, and to print their name(s) clearly. The deadline to submit the name of a loved one is Friday, December 19 at noon.

Trees & Trimmings 2014Please join us for Saint John School’s annual holiday market, filled with everything you need for Christmas: freshly cut trees from Wilson Farm, custom decorated wreaths, red and white poinsettias, boxwoods and roping, delicious homemade baked goods, a Toy Raffle, “Kids Corner Boutique” and a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus!

“Angel of the Waters” a signed, framed print by former St. John parishioner E. Joseph Fontaine, will be our showcase raffle item this year. Tickets will be available at Trees & Trimmings until 4:00 p.m. Please contact Christina McCormick with any questions.

Tree Pickup Service: Enjoy a restful Christmas, and with a $25 donation let us pick up your tree after the holidays and deliver it to the Wellesley RDF on Jan. 3rd for you! Please note, you must be a Wellesley resident. Find all the details HERE.

Family Mass Volunteers Needed

coffee_donutsWe are in need of some volunteers to help set-up and clean-up the donuts and coffee after Family Mass. If you have never volunteered before, it is very easy! Donuts, coffee & bagels are delivered right to the Social Hall before Mass. All you need to do is arrive 10-15 minutes before Mass to set up the tables and then stay after to cleanup. Thanksgiving Thank You!

Thank YouA special thanks to all the parishioners who cooked, baked or served at the Thanksgiving feast at Bristol Lodge last Thursday.  The soup kitchen in Waltham hosted over 80 guests at their annual Thanksgiving feast. This could only happen thanks to the generosity of the St. John’s community.

Trees & Trimmings 2014Trees & Trimmings loves and needs donations of homemade baked goods for Santa’s Bakeshop — bake your favorite treat or classic family recipe! Please drop off all baked goods at Philbin Hall on Friday, December 6th, or contact Amy Baughman  or Julie Lavalle  if you wish to make a contribution of your favorite holiday goodie. Thank you!

Kid’s Corner will once again offer a boutique filled with Christmas gifts for parents, siblings, and grandparents. These items will be priced so that kids can afford to buy them. Our annual Toy Raffle is also a big highlight for the children. This year we are featuring an NEED ITEMS and other exciting items. There will also be craft projects, and don’t forget about SANTA!

During this Advent season, our Service Commission invites us, as a Parish, to assist in supplying ‘Birthing Kits’ as a way to reduce the mortality rates for mothers and newborns in Haiti. Birthing Kit Collection will take place at all the Masses on the weekend of December 13-14.
