Thank You from Fr. Tom
There are times in life when an act of kindness leaves us speechless. The many events of last weekend have left me not only speechless, but also overwhelmed. Your kind words, thoughtful notes and presence at those events have given me much strength as I prepare for the journey ahead and added to all of that, your most generous ‘travel fund’ has unleashed my imagination with all sorts of possibilities. Please know that I am profoundly grateful to each of you for these moments and for all the ways we have shared our faith journey here at St. John’s. – Fr. Tom

A Thank You from Fr. Francois
I would like to thank all of you for making our missionary appeal such a great success last weekend. Thank you very much for your support and generous donations for the people of my native diocese of Kikwit. Through your generosity, the lives of our people and especially our children who benefit from diocesan ministries and services, are greatly enriched. Be assured of my prayers for all of you. May God continue to bless you now and for years to come.Comments Off on A Thank You from Fr. Francois

Labyrinth Choir Concert: Saturday, April 25 at 7:30pm
Labyrinth Choir is celebrating their first CD release with a concert called The Heart of Music at St. John the Evangelist on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. The 16 voice professional choir, led by artistic director Dr. Anita Kupriss, will sing all fifteen songs from their first recording. The songs from the CD include Gjeilo’s Ubi caritas, Brahms’ Let Nothing Ever Grieve Thee, our signature song Carrickfergus, as well as jazz tunes Come Sunday and I Wish You Love.
In September of 2014 Brad Michel, a professional sound engineer and parishioner at St. John’s, recorded our CD in the Sanctuary. Music Director Laurence Carson played organ on two tracks of the CD and will join Labyrinth Choir for this concert series. We are so grateful to Laurence Carson and the parish of St. John’s that we would like to offer comp tickets to all parishioners who would like to celebrate with us on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 pm! CDs will be available at the concert: $15; 2 for $25. For more information, please contact labyrinthchoir@gmail.com or visit the website at www.labyrinthchoir.org.

Fundraising Raffle for St. John-St. Paul “World Youth Day” Trip
World Youth Day, initiated by Pope John Paul II in 1986, attracts more than one million youth from almost every country. World Youth Day (WYD) is an opportunity for the youth of our parishes to learn about their faith and to build bridges of friendship and hope between continents, people, and cultures. The week-long event culminates with mass with the Holy Father. We have around 30 young people from St. John-St. Paul hoping to travel to Kraków for WYD in 2016. We are asking for your help to support our young people by buying a ticket to our closed end raffle. Only 500 tickets will be sold.
1st prize: $5,000 2nd prize: $2,000 3rd prize: $1,000
Ticket price: $100. The drawing will be held on June 7th, 2015. All proceeds will be used to send our young parishioners to World Youth Day. Members of the joint St John-St Paul World Youth Day group will be outside each Mass this weekend inviting you to participate in the raffle. A raffle form can also be downloaded here.
